Danny Clinchs "Still Moving" gibt mit rund 200 Aufnahmen einen Einblick in die Welt diverser Bands, Musiker und Sänger, von Bruce Springsteen (der auch das Vorwort beisteuerte und häufiger auf den Bildern zu sehen ist) über Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Metallica, Green Day, Mitglieder der Ramones, und, und, und, ...Die Bilder sind, je nach Art des Umfelds der Musiker bei den Aufnahmen, in verschiedene Kapitel gegliedert: Documentary, Friends & Family, Backstage, Live und Portrait. Was mich an den Aufnahmen besonders begeisterte, war, dass die meisten nicht gezielt inszeniert schienen, sondern mehr wie Momentaufnahmen mit Schnappschuss-Charakter wirkten, also sehr natürlich.Präsentiert werden die Bilder meist entweder ein- oder doppelseitig und glücklicherweise nicht in Hochglanz (auch bei der matten Oberfläche teilweise Fingerabdrücke auf dunklem Untergrund, aber damit muss man nun mal rechnen); z.T. gibt es auch ausklappbare Seiten. Im Hauptteil des Buches sind die Motive nicht beschriftet, der Index im Anhang benennt jedoch die dargestellten Künstler und das Aufnahmejahr.Den Bildern an sich würde ich 5+ Sterne vergeben, denn die Natürlichkeit und "Echtheit", die Danny Clinchs Fotos namhafter Musiker ausstrahlen, finde ich wirklich fantastisch.Absolut perfekt ist der Bildband für mich nicht, siehe unten, wo ich insgesamt 4,5 Sterne geben würde, wenn möglich, runde aber auf 5 Sterne auf.- Buchbindung: Leider zwischen festem Einband und erster bzw. letzter Innenseite instabil und beim Aufklappen leicht einzureissen. Weiss hier aber nicht, ob evtl. nur eine ausnahmsweise schlechte Produktion bei meinem Exemplar des Buches.- Index: Hätte es vorteilhaft gefunden, bei Bandmitgliedern, die nicht auch eine Solokarriere eingeschlagen haben, die Bandnamen zur Zeit der Aufnahme ebenfalls anzugeben - aber, klar, solche Bandmitglieder sind für sich allein natürlich auch fotografierenswerte Individuen und nicht nur Teil einer Band, was vielleicht der Grund war, die entsprechenden Bands nicht zu nennen.
"da sind ja fast alle mit dabei" war so mein gedanke nach der ersten durchschau. geniale bilder all der musik (anti-) helden und noch vieles mehr, von neil youngs hut bis hin zu bruce springsteens gitarre. radiohead vor den twintowers, mike mccready im konfettiregen und ein kindlich wirkender beck hansen auf der couch mit john lee hooker. alles grandios abgelichtet von mr. clinch. genialer bildband.
